# 3.2 Solving Systems by Substitution
- Algebra with Pizazz wksht pg. 163
- do work on your own paper! don't forget to fold paper into 12 boxes!
- yes, you must write the letters of your answer on my worksheet to figure out the question at the top of the worksheet: Why did the President put vegetables in the blender?", but your work MUST be on your OWN paper!
Extra Credit Alert!!!!!
maximum points per student = 5 points
you can earn 5 points extra credit if you are the first person to give me the correct answer for a problem. To receive the extra credit, you must include:
- the problem number
- your mathematical work / explanation
There are 24 total problems for homework this evening. That means that 24 different students can get extra credit tonight.

Good job to thomas and alex for getting extra credit!!!! thanks for the explanation on the differences between independent, consistent and inconsistent as well, alex. i'm sure thomas really appreciates it even though he hasn't said so yet.

if you're trying to get extra credit for any of the graphing problems, you MUST explain it to me like a. ibanez did (see the 3rd comment). Very good, Alex!

lizbeth,
what section are you doing because that is not #20 from 3.1
By msichan, at Thursday, September 07, 2006 4:26:00 PM
lizbeth,
#22 is almost correct. look at your first eqn.:
1) 4y -2x = 6
4y = 2x+6
y = 1/2x + 6
find your mistake and try again....

kyle,
my original statement for this assignment said that the maximum number of extra credit points a student can receive is 5.
however, i am willing to change that to 10 points since no one wants to post on the blog but a couple of you so you guys should be rewarded.

d. neira,
cute blog page!
i'm not understanding your math work. go look at n. noriega's explanation or d. riley's explanation. use those as your models for explaining the problem.

nice job, g. egoavil!
p. llewelyn,
your slope for the first eqn. was incorrect as well. the first eqn. was NOT in slope-intercept form of y=mx+b so you CAN'T say that the slope is 5. you must first solve for to get y by itself. then, whatever number is in front of x is your slope!
